I am excited about the upcoming semester. I am strengthen my relationships with other models as well as my reputation as an art model. Although I did not work much over the summer, I did make some major model to model connections.
If you are afraid to network with people because you don't want someone to get ahead of you, you will suffer.
For example, one the models told me about a gig that she was not ideal for, yet thought I would be. The artist prefers models with more volume. Now she could have kept this to herself, because they did not want her. She recognized, like I do, this is not the way to be. Networking helps everyone. I got a new work connection and she strengthen her reputation and it bring her new work as well. Certainly, when I hear of someone looking for her build I will tell her.
Last semester, I decided to try my hand at Voice-Over Acting again. Aside from receiving points in the proper direction by people I work for and with, I obtained my first gig this week.
I found it on the clist. If you are on sure who I am talking about in box me. I not really back the site, because they don't police it well enough for my taste. It was a chance finding though.
The company wanted an outgoing voice mail message. Simple gig maybe a hour of work. Yet, a major step for me. Once again, big thank to EMH for allowing my voice to represent their company.
